Can I use Arclights with my clipless pedals?

We are actually working on a solution for clipless and hope to share it with everyone soon. If you are interested, you can signup for more info here and let us know what specific cleats and pedals you have so we can make sure it’s compatible: https://www.redshiftsports.com/arc-cp

Will the Arclight Pedals fit my bicycle?

The Arclight Pedals use a 9/16” thread, which is the standard thread found on most bicycles. Some bikes that have 1-piece cranks, including BMX and certain kids bikes, will have a 1/2” thread which is not currently compatible with the Arclight Pedals.
If there is enough interest, we will quickly follow up with a 1/2” thread version of the pedals. Please let us know if you’re interested in a 1/2” thread version of the Arclight Pedals submitting your email here: https://redshiftsports.com/arc-thread

Can I put the Arclights Pedals on my kid's bike?

The Arclight Pedals are compatible with most kids bikes that have 20” wheels or larger and cranks with 9/16” threads. They are not compatible with 1-piece cranks found on many BMX-style bikes because those cranks use 1/2” threads. Please let us know if you’re interested in a 1/2” thread version of the Arclight Pedals submitting your email here: https://redshiftsports.com/arc-thread

What is the warranty on the Arclight Pedals?

We stand behind our products and our customer service team is here to help if you have any issues or questions. The Arclight Pedals (pedals and lights) have a 1 year warranty on all manufacturing defects. It does not cover normal wear and tear, battery degradation, or damage from abuse/misuse.

Are there any limits on where I can use Arclights?

Arclight Pedals are legal for use in most countries, including the US. Regulations do vary significantly by country, and even within a country they depend on the conditions of use, including bike type, trail/road type, time of day, etc. Because of that, we recommend that you check local rules to confirm that Arclight Pedals are acceptable based on your individual situation. With regard to Germany specifically, our understanding is that the Arclight Pedals do not meet the StVZO regulations for use on public roads because of the ability to change from steady to flash.

What type of USB plug do the Arclights and charging hub use?

The light modules have a built-in male USB-A connector so they can plug directly into any USB-A outlet. We also provide a charging hub with the Arclight Pedals so you can charge 4 modules at the same time. The charging hub also has a standard USB-A male cable which can be plugged into any power adapter with a USB-A outlet.

Do the lights lock in the pedals?

The magnetic attachment provides a secure attachment while riding, but also allows for easy removal for charging or when parking in a high risk area. There is not a secondary lock for the light modules, but the magnetic attachment means it takes less time to remove and re-attach the arclight modules than most rubber band or strap-mounted headlights and tail lights.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
